Our team worked with the contract team at Chenderit School recently to create a teaching walls in the new teaching block that incorporated practicality with modernity. What was installed we hope will make learning fun and convenient for both students and teachers.
The Teaching Wall Design
Here at ETB Furniture we specialise in dormitory and secure furniture, so designing and manufacturing a teaching wall was new for our team. But they embraced the challenge and now, they are proud of the final result.
The key purpose of this teaching wall was to offer a practical space for teachers to teach. Originally, the design team opted to have a white board at the back of the wall. Though, after speaking with the client, they opted for sliding doors made from white boards. The back of the wall was then made from laminated MDF, making it sturdy enough to house a 43kg TV or interactive board.
Another purpose of this teaching wall was to maximise storage, so students and teachers could keep everything they may need close to hand. The sliding doors, which were placed on easy glide runners, gave the opportunity to incorporate more storage. Behind the doors are 12 shelves, 6 on each side, perfect for storing books, files, pens and maths equipment.
At the bottom of the unit are 4 cupboards, fixed with sleek metal handles. These were added to maximise storage once again, giving teachers space to keep textbooks, stationary, art supplies and other items. The main purpose of these cupboards was ease, keeping everything close to hand makes a teachers job so much easier.
