Secure Dining Room Furniture at Stafford Hall

Secure Dining

A good communal eating environment is pivotal for any secure educational facility. It is the space in which children and young people come to socialise, engage in activities and enhance their physical and mental wellbeing. With this in mind, our team here at ETB Furniture designed, manufactured and installed secure dining room furniture that was comfortable yet attractive to the eye.

Secure dining for two

The team worked across two rooms at Stafford Hall, the main dining hall and the Coach House. As the residents of this secure educational facility are children and young people aged between 11 and 19, our design team embraced the youthful look while taking into consideration the security and safety features. The materials we used are vigorous, hard-wearing and designed to withstand a high-usage environment.

In the main dining room, the team opted for Lancaster oak laminate table tops with ash to oak stained panels for the seating area. A lack of manoeuvrability was extremely important when designing this area, mostly because loose furniture is somewhat hazardous in a secure environment. Therefore, the tables and seating were fitted into the floor and walls to reduce the risk of anybody tripping and hurting themselves.

The seating areas were designed to be comfortable, youthful and non-clinical. The chocolate coloured faux leather gives the room a young-looking glow, making it the perfect interactive space. An elongated sofa was designed for those who like to be social while they eat; it is spread across two walls, allowing for several tables to be put in. While two-seater tables were created for 1-to-1 conversations.

Our team also worked in the communal living space at the Coach House. The same tables and seating were used to give the children and young people a stylish social space where they can watch television, play with toys or musical instruments and eat.

Taupe grey and Aspen Evergreen were used instead of chocolate brown to give the room an edgy and contemporary feel. The intention for this room was to create a space that encourages interaction with fellow residents, parents and staff.

Our secure dining room furniture can be designed to fit any communal space, with a wide range of materials, colours and cushion finishes available. Our secure furniture page showcases what we can offer.
